“Be very wary. I engaged Backs to look at some remedial work. They advised I needed a complete board rewire which I agreed to. Following completion I had three electrical circuit faults. Backs advised I would have to pay an investigation fee ~$380 to come and look at the issue. They came and advised the faults were just a coincidence and quoted a further $1300 to fix the circuits with some rewiring. I engaged a second electrician who found that the three circuits did not have the correct wiring at the newly installed board that Backs had installed. This second electrician fixed the wiring with $280 and 30 minutes. The second electrical also demonstrated that the additional Backs quote would not have fixed the three circuits. I then contact Backs seeking an explanation both when the $1300 quote was received and after the second electrician fixed the problem caused by Backs faulty wiring. Backs never responded. They did not also respond to my request for an BCNSW certification which was not lodged per regulations. I am still chasing this.”
