“Beltrame should respect their neighbours by not causing dirt to be deposited across neighbouring private homes in their developments. They have purchased a disused quarry in the Mitcham foothills in a small neighbouring community and began filling it, before Council approval has been granted, under the pretence of securing the quarry walls, which they are legally allowed to do. It's questionable as to whether the quarry walls required securing but what isn't in question is the level of dust, mud & noise nuisance that filling the quarry has caused to the neighbouring community. There's been minimal wetting of delivered soil, nil wetting of the access roads & heavy machinery activity from 7am till 4pm virtually 6 days a week which has caused significant dust nuisance and deposited significant levels of dirt across the neighbour's houses, cars & plants. To date Beltrame, knowing that the neighbours are all complaining about the dust & dirt nuisance, hasn't offered any recompense or remedy to the neighbours other than using a road sweeper to clean some of the roads in very close proximity to the entry to the site.”
