Self Sufficiency Supplies–Solar Systems is based at Way Way on the NSW mid north coast and works across Kempsey and its surrounds, Macksville to Scotts Head, Nambucca Heads and nearby areas. The business designs, supplies and installs stand-alone power systems, grid interactive and grid feed solar systems, and also covers electricity from wind and hydro, generators, batteries, inverters, regulators, solar panels, solar hot water, heat pumps, hydronic heating, ventilation, refrigeration, solar lighting, solar electric fencing, water pumping and reticulation, water and waste treatment, stainless steel tanks and composting toilets. It offers a mobile service and takes cash, cheque, EFT, EFTPOS, Mastercard and Visa.
The business began in 1976 around the idea of meeting as many household needs on site as possible and relying less on outside suppliers. It provides advice on house design and energy efficiency, and consultancy on where electrical and plumbing items are planned into a building, along with recommendations on building materials and finishes. It also handles grid connections, testing, repairs and upgrades, and supplies evacuated tube and flat plate solar hot water systems.

“We are extremely happy with the system designed and installed for our property. The system was custom designed to suit our specific requirements. Alex, Melissa and their team were all highly knowledgeable and professional. They were always honest and respectful and it was a pleasure to have them on our property. The site was always left in immaculate condition with all packaging removed. The support didn’t stop when the installation was completed. They continued to monitor the system and tweak it for maximum efficiency for several months after the install, and always took the time to explain the system’s requirements and answer any questions. We highly recommend this business for its extensive knowledge, passion and professionalism, and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Tim”
