About Solar Saving
Solar and battery installer in Nundah, QLD, working across South East Queensland on home solar, battery storage, EV charging and commercial solar.
Solar Saving is a Queensland-owned solar and energy business based in Nundah, working with homes and businesses across South East Queensland, including Brisbane's northside suburbs and the Sunshine and Gold Coast regions. The team designs and installs home solar systems, battery storage and EV charging, and also puts together larger solar and battery systems for commercial sites. Projects run from the first conversation and system design through to installation and after-sale support.
The business was founded in 2019 by electrician Michael Kapatan, and its in-house installers hold SAA Solar and Battery Accreditation. For commercial clients, the approach starts with reviewing a power bill and interval data to understand tariffs, demand peaks and operating hours before a system is proposed. For homes, the focus is on helping households generate, store and use their own energy. Michael is a qualified electrician, and the business holds an electrical contractors licence.

“Michael and the team at Solar Saving have made a huge difference to our business. Our monthly electricity bill dropped from around $4,800 in June to just $940 in September. That's about an 80% saving, even though we're still using the same amount of power at the factory. Michael took the time to analyse our electricity bills, tariffs and how the factory uses power, then designed a solar and battery system around our specific needs. The pricing was very competitive, and the installation team were professional and worked around our operations to keep disruption to the business to a minimum. What really stood out was the support after the solar and battery system was switched on in July. Michael kept reviewing our bills, fine-tuning the battery settings and helping us move to a more suitable electricity plan. That ongoing work has been a big part of achieving these savings. The savings have been game changing for our business. I'd happily recommend Solar Saving to any business owners looking to reduce their overheads with a well-designed solar and battery system.”
