About Carnegie Electrical Services
Electrician in Carnegie, VIC for switchboard upgrades, home automation, rewiring and LED lighting.
Carnegie Electrical Services is an electrical contractor working from Acacia Street in Carnegie, looking after homes and businesses across Melbourne's south east, including Bentleigh East, Caulfield, Malvern East, Murrumbeena and Ormond. The team handles residential work such as home wiring for houses and extensions, rewiring existing homes, switchboard upgrades, safety switches, fault finding and low voltage and LED lighting. Home automation, including Clipsal C-Bus systems, home theatre sound and video, computer data cabling and telephone systems are also part of the mix.
For commercial and industrial clients the business covers power supply work, control cabinet design and maintenance, general metering applications and energy saving systems. Chris Nielsen founded the business in 1983 and still runs it day to day alongside a small team of licensed electricians, so the person who quotes a job is part of the team that does it. After-hours emergency call outs are available for loss of power, faults and electrical hazards.

“I highly recommend Carnegie Electrical Services if you want a highly professional, kind, skilled and competent electrical service that is affordable around Hughesdale. Chris, the manager was completely understanding of our requirements & very efficient at getting his team organised & supplies sorted within 2 days of my call. Within 2 hours Seamus seamlessly & respectfully installed 12 LED downlights (these just use the power of 2 of the old 50W downlights), new switches in the kitchen including 2 new 4 panel switchboards, replaced the old fire alarm with a new model where batteries for at least 10yrs, replaced 9 light globes to LED in oyster lights inside & outside, replaced 2 dimmer switches, tested the safety switches and ensured all the earthing was compliant to safety regulation of 2026! Thank-you for transforming our quality of life, saving our power, reducing the impact on our environment & keeping us safe. Mick & Kathy”

“Chris did some major electrical work at our block. All the preplanning was great and when we hit unforseen issues they went the extra mile to get us back "online". Thanks Chris and team.”
