“My smoke alarm was playing up so my Real Estate agent booked this company to inspect the unit. To rectify the problem, Detector Inspector installed a brand new smoke detector at the end of August '26. Now (Oct '26) they have convinced the owner they need to do their yearly Smoke Detector compliance and seek access to my unit. Begrudgingly I booked a time for them to visit - the company requires a 2 hour window for timing. Their 'inspector' never fronted and, after calling them, I found the call was canceled as no one was said to be home - which is strange as I work from home 5 days a week. The customer service guy kept saying sorry for the inconvenience over and over till I had to tell him to stop. I asked if this 2nd call out to check compliance was necessary considering they installed a brand new unit just under two months ago. Surely that work would be compliant? Customer service kept pushing me to book in another time without acknowledging what I had told him and said the check was necessary. Frustrating no end. I'm glad I'm not paying their invoices.”
